Anyone else have those sleepless nights when you get around middle age? LOL! That would be me last night! So here are the random thoughts I had. My stepdaughter is getting married and she sent photos of herself in some dresses she was trying on! WOW! She was beautiful of course. So, of course, the meltdown queen that I am, I had small moment of reality. Daughter getting married, new son-in-law, another door in our life we are going through! It's a beautiful thing!! She will be 27 this year.......
That made me think of the last 3 Day "Get Started" meeting I went to. We met a couple there who just lost their only child to breast cancer at the age of 28. I can't imagine......what a tragedy. At the same meeting though...my good friend Cindy stood up to share her story. I did not know Cindy (and her daughter Mandy) until they walked the Breast Cancer 3 Day with our team last year. Cindy lost her mom to breast cancer, and she will soon be a 2 year survivor, and she believes she is alive today because of all the people who are trying to rid the world of breast cancer (and all cancers) by doing something BOLD like the 3 Day Walk. Cindy has decided that this year is THE YEAR OF CINDY. She has a new lease on life and is going gangbusters to make it the best she can. I'm SO proud of her. The support she is getting from Mandy is unprecedented too!
I have another Get Started meeting today and I'm wondering what stories I will hear. Do you have a story? Do you want to make a difference? Everyone deserves a lifetime and YOU can help! Experience the 3 Day and be reminded in this crazy world we live in, that there are good and kind and giving people in this world! Come see what it is all about at one of the upcoming meetings. After 5 years of participation, I am still amazed and overwhelmed by this event. The coolest thing....ANYBODY can do it! Including my 85 year old "mom" Sophie who is also legally blind! TRY it! You just might AMAZE yourself!
Just some random thoughts from me! Thanks for "listening"! Have an INSPIRATIONAL day! HUGS!

First of all Maggie forgot to mention that this would not be the Year of Cindy if I didn't have her inspiration. I can't do this alone. So, along with being inspired, I am seeing a nutritionist and a psychologist to help improve both my inner strength and outer beauty. It seems as though I've neglected myself over the years. Big sursprise, being a mom and all. My weight loss has been slow. Trying to juggle work, school and exercise has been difficult. I hate when grown-up stuff gets in the way. I will, however, persevere. With a daughter like Mandy and a friend like Maggie, how can I fail!
Thanks for the post Cindy! I am so glad you are doing what you are doing for YOU! Continue to persevere and this WILL BE YOUR YEAR!
